The palm house, half past one

I walked past this at half past one in the morning for a month before I painted it. Somebody inside leaves a lamp on over the propagation bench, and from the path the whole house reads as one warm shape sitting in wet black planting. The painting is built in four passes over 41 hours and the last of them is almost entirely glazes.
